The Englert Theatre Concerts 2024-2025

I attended my first concert at the theater, driving in from Kansas City to see Suzanne Vega. It was well worth the 5 hour drive for the show and the theatre. There is parking nearby and relatively inexpensive when compared to KC, for example. The theatre is comfortable and with great acoustics, made for an enjoyable evening.

My first show at the Englert was on the main level. My second show was in the balcony. The Englert seats 725. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are most excellent, and it's easy to see the stage. I saw the Indigo Girls with Lucy Wainwright Roche. They were great. I strongly recommend the Englert for musical acts in a very intimate setting.

This is a nice live theater. Located downtown. It is on the small size. Seats definitely are. Very small bar. Saw a performance of the touring group of Second City. Like all live comedy acts it really helps if you are a bit drunk. The act was definitely geared to college students but that was fine as Iowa City is a college town.

Nice little Theater. Excellent sound quality, with a capacity just under 800 it is a great place to see a show.
