Grand Junction Convention Center Reviews

Great venue for small to mid size conferences. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. Location is perfect, just at the west end of Main Street. Plenty of hotels, bars, and restaurants to choose from with walking distance.

I'll start with the good. It's beautiful inside. Planning: We reserved 2 days in September and when all the details were settled and came time for the contract it came with two days... a month apart. We actually read the contract and caught it and asked them to correct it but oddly a large event had completely filled our space on day two so we were offered a small side room for that day. We declined and had to seek another venue with little time to spare. Power: We were told when planning that there was plenty of power.. they didn't mention it was $25 per outlet recepticle. Food: No outside food, drinks, or snacks... no problem, we ordered their cheese tray and fruit tray. When the cheese tray disappeared after an hour we asked where it went because we would take the leftovers and they explained it was an insurance liability... hmm, I've been in insurance 24 years... who knew? Look the planning staff was great... the sales manager not so much. One thing to note on the facility... bring your own registration table covers... we were 0 for 2 on theirs. Overall our event turned out great but CMU comes in at about 50% less expense and 100% less grief.

Compared to previous event I've attended there, everything has improved dramatically. Service and food were great. The bars were well staffed, and the bar manager was on top of their game. Much improved experience from five years ago

The biggest issue I have had here is the fact that "quiet time" is at 10 and most shows go to way later. The smoking area got closed because some people were being extremely loud and it ruined it for everyone. I just needed to go out to get air cause it was way too hot inside. Other than that decent place, not the best for concerts though.

Chambers of commerce dinner was fun.
