The Moon Concerts 2024

From the point of view of a customer, The Moon seems like a pretty great venue. It has live music, affordable drinks, and a great atmosphere. The staff and the regulars are friendly. I can't complain at all about any of those things, which is why this rating is still positive overall. However, writing not merely as a customer but as someone who was a prospective employee last year, I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism. I had sent my resume to The Moon in November 2022 to ask if they had any jobs available to which I might be suited, and although it took until the following February to get a response one of the managers invited me to an interview in late February 2023. I understand that I was not entitled to any sort of interview, and I appreciated the opportunity. So I was excited despite the long wait for a response to my initial expression of interest in any upcoming vacancies. No complaints at all so far. Even when I was interviewed, the lady I was interviewed by seemed very nice. After my interview, I was invited to work a trial shift the following Monday. I gratefully accepted the offer, turned up and worked the shift, enjoyed it, and liked everyone I met - but that was the end of it. And when I say "that was the end of it", I don't mean that I was informed I didn't make the cut. I mean that, even with me emailing The Moon offering thanks for the opportunity; and asking if they had considered my application any further; etc, I heard absolutely nothing back. And I never would, to this day. Though I will never know for sure, I can only assume that The Moon didn't think I made the cut. And I have no problem at all with being rejected. It just would have been nice for the managers of The Moon to extend some courtesy and reach out in ANY capacity, even if just to say they didn't want me. They could have at least responded to my emails in the weeks that followed. I took the time out of my day to come and work for them for free and didn't even get a thank you. So yeah, as a customer The Moon is pretty cool. As a prospective employee? Not so much. Not in my experience anyway.

There are many fantastic events here, it's a more basic club but I've ways enjoyed my nights out here, they have a large selection of smaller indie and rock bands, DJ nights of different genres too. I also love the smaller events in the week that are hosted here, especially Howl at The Moon, the poetry night where fellow poets can go and read their poetry.

This was an epic venue to go clubbing at, variating between different colours of light with heavy tunes! The bar is clearly presented even late and I had a Redbull while clubbing, also liking the Cardiff Underground map and I did find the toilets to be clean when using them.

Went to the moon for a Drum and Bass event. The venue is small but when the motive is in full swing, it's a proper little spot. I'll definitely be back again if I see another similar event here!
