Jardins de Cap Roig Reviews

Fastidiously designed estate with stunning attention to detail. High above the cliffs amongst the pine trees, twisting, anastomosing paths take you on a journey of botany and photo culture like never before. Especially the cactus area! Take your camera on a sunny day and you’ll not want to leave.

Highly recommend this beautiful garden to walk around and take in views over the sea. It is a large garden so I would recommend a few hours to walk around it all! Many types of plants and flowers can be seen, and some beautiful old buildings. Lots of places to sit and admire a nice view. Note that there is no cafe, only a small vending machine with drinks and snacks, but they only take cash, or card payment with an app called breazy. There is a picnic area inside the garden under shade and many tables to sit so best to just bring your own drinks and snacks!

I loved this place. Beautiful gardens overlooking a beautiful coastline. I'm a garden lover so I especially enjoyed the walks and the huge variety of plants. I spent about an hour and a half there. I arrived at around 11:00 and the place was very quiet which, for me, made it more enjoyable. You can drive right up to it and park there for free. The entrance fee was €10. I would definitely recommend coming for a visit.

We arrived here in the heat of the day (what do they say about mad dogs and Englishmen!). The gardens also had their festival running which meant there were limited facilities there. However, the gardens are very picturesque with views across the coastline providing a dramatic setting for the beautiful gardens. It's planted out really nicely with areas of shade which are welcome on a hot day. Castle is a really nice spot in the middle of the gardens although it was closed up because of the festival. Staff were really helpful and friendly from the guy on the gate, to the taxi driver who shuttles you from the car park to the garden (2 minutes) and to the lady on the ticket desk. Pretty easy walking although be aware it is built on the cliffs so there is quite a bit of up and down. I'd recommend going when the festival isn't on as then you can stop somewhere for a drink and get a better feel for the place.

Beautiful botanical garden with interesting history. It’s a nice place for a walk and has beautiful terraces to have a view on the calas and the sea. +definitely worth seeing +beautiful, peaceful and green +worth hiking +there is a picnic spot in the shade +has a very nice swimming spot nearby (not a part of the garden) Worth hiking there -not a lot of information about the place, it’s history and plants. Worth looking in the internet before or during the visit. -quite tricky navigation around the garden. -no place to have food or drinks nether inside the garden nor nearby. There are some vending machines with water that don’t accept credit cards. So take some snacks or water in advance.
