Lovely space with tons of lush lawns and indigenous plants. Beautiful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and be amongst nature. Tucked in right under the mountain, giving you the perfect backdrop for picture taking and shade from the harsh African sun. Take the family for a picnic for the day and enjoy serenity!

The park itself is amazing and worth the visit. The weather on the day was far from perfect, but didn't detract from the beauty of these gardens. A more friendly lady at the ticket office would have been a bonus.

Recently, I visited the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden for a lazy Sunday picnic and had a great experience. The big, well-laid-out gardens with the majestic backdrop of Table Mountain are truly worth experiencing. The wide variety of plant species is impressive, and the local birdlife just added that extra touch. The Garden boasts a wide variety of paths leading you through different garden types. The difficulty of each path also varies from a relaxing stroll to a challenging hike, each providing you with a unique experience. For those who didn't picnic or are feeling hungry, there are two on-site restaurants that will cater to your needs. They also frequently host musical performances at their amphitheatre which is definitely something to look out for. Whether you're alone, with friends, or with family, an awesome experience awaits. Even the little ones will have a great time. It's been far too long since my last visit – time to plan my return!

This place is great for unwinding. It is the biggest botanical garden I have experienced so far with lots to see. Tea restaurant offers love food and it's cozy. We also went through an art exhibition which was showcasing amazing artworks of SA talent. There are plenty picnic spots. The mountain view, the gigantic trees, the flowers. Walking trails was Fun. They also offer guides for groups. Clean space to clear the mind ..

This is one of my favourite botanical gardens I've ever visited worldwide and a definite must-see for visitors to Cape Town. A vast array of plant life beautifully laid out in themed gardens. The 'useful plants' garden is a favourite with indigenous plants with medicinal uses and I love the cycad trail feels like stepping back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Also a lovely place to have a picnic.
