Pierre-Laurent Aimard

Born in Lyon, pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard is renowned for his expertise in contemporary music and its link to traditional repertoires. Mentored by Olivier Messiaen and his wife Yvonne Loriod, Aimard won the 1973 Olivier Messiaen International Competition. He joined Pierre Boulez’s Ensemble InterContemporain, excelling in avant-garde compositions. Aimard's vast discography spans major labels like Sony Classical and Deutsche Grammophon. In collaboration with Tamara Stefanovich and Esa-Pekka Salonen, Aimard continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
