Japanese band Minyo Crusaders revive traditional min'yō folk music with global rhythms on “Echoes of Japan,” blending cumbia, Ethiopian jazz, and Afro funk. Founded by Katsumi Tanaka post-2011 earthquake, inspired by Hibari Misora and Tokyo Cuban Boys, they aim to reconnect min'yō with its roots as ‘songs of the people.’
