Whitechapel is an American deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee, formed in 2006. Named after the Jack the Ripper district, their sound blends deathcore with melodic and groove metal elements. Voivod, formed in 1982 in Jonquière, Quebec, is a pioneering metal band known for their unique fusion of thrash, prog, and punk influences. They gained international fame with hits like "Nothingface" and a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine." Their lineup has seen changes, including a stint with ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. They won a Juno for 2019's The Wake. Celebrated for dystopian themes and inventive sound, they continue to evolve with releases like 2022's Synchro Anarchy, marking 40 years in the industry with Morgöth Tales in 2023.
