Melissa Ferrick, from Ipswich, MA, is a genre-defying artist blending indie, folk, and punk. Known for raw, witty lyrics, she opened for Morrissey in 1991 and signed with Atlantic Records. With 18 albums, she now partners with Kill Rock Stars. An openly queer artist since 1995, Ferrick founded Drive Music Agency, and taught at Northeastern University and Berklee, holding a Harvard Ed.M.
