LineUp

Born in Raceland, LA, Jimmy Clanton became a teen idol with hits like "Just a Dream" and "Venus in Blue Jeans." Known for his R&B influence and songwriting, he starred in the film *Go Johnny Go.* Collaborating with Dick Holler, his music showcased New Orleans roots. Clanton joined the U.S. Army and later became a DJ, performed in oldies shows, and experienced a religious conversion in the '80s.
Brian Hyland, born in Brooklyn, NY, defined bubblegum pop with hits like "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini." Known for youthful, romantic tunes like "Sealed with a Kiss," Hyland transitioned to country-influenced styles. He collaborated with Lee Pockriss, Paul Vance, Del Shannon, and Allen Toussaint. He scored a final Top Five hit with "Gypsy Woman" and continued touring, often with his son.
The Bronx sextet The Excellents, formed in 1960, are known for the doo wop classic "Coney Island Baby," which hit the Top 20 in 1962. Originally called the Premiers, the group caught attention with "Red Red Robin" and rocked-up "You Baby You." Despite limited hits, "Coney Island Baby" remains a staple, and the group, featuring original member John Kuse, continues performing.
