Howe Gelb, born in Pennsylvania, found his muse in Tucson, AZ, forming Giant Sand. Known for blending rock and country with playful lyrics, Gelb's band released influential albums like *The Love Songs* and *Chore of Enchantment*. Collaborated with Neil Young, John Convertino, and others, they captured a distinct desert rock sound. Despite retiring in 2016, Gelb revived Giant Sand in 2018, continuing his musical journey.
