Eric Vloeimans, born in 1963, is a Dutch trumpeter and composer known for his melodic and lyrical style. He studied classical and jazz at Rotterdam Conservatory and learned under Donald Byrd. He played in bands led by Frank Foster and Mercer Ellington. Admired for his unique, velvety sound, Vloeimans refuses to conform to mainstream taste, making music for millions on his own terms.
