Born in Ferndale, MI, Ron Carter is a jazz icon and world-class bassist celebrated for his role in Miles Davis' quintet and numerous collaborations. Known for his acoustic prowess, Carter has performed with symphonies worldwide, released albums like "Piccolo" and "Ron Carter's Great Big Band," and won three Grammys, including for "Call Sheet Blues." He's one of the most recorded bassists, having worked with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams, and many others, and even features in the 2022 PBS documentary "Finding the Right Notes."

Mayra Andrade, Cape Verde-born singer, blends traditional rhythms with Afrobeats. Known for albums like “Manga,” she’s acclaimed for her soulful, modern sound and global influences.
