Doug E. Fresh, a pioneer in human beatboxing, was born in Barbados. Known for his classic hip-hop hits "The Show" and "La Di Da Di" with the Get Fresh Crew. His albums "Oh, My God!" and "The World's Greatest Entertainer" showcased his diverse style. He collaborated with renowned rapper Slick Rick.
Born in NYC, DJ Cassidy became a hit after spinning at Diddy's MTV Awards party in 2001. Known for gigs at Obama's inaugurations & Beyoncé's wedding, he signed with Columbia and drew inspiration from 70s-80s R&B. Collaborators include Nile Rodgers, Mary J. Blige, Usher, and Daft Punk.
Queens native Havoc, known for gritty '90s hardcore rap, co-founded Mobb Deep with Prodigy, creating iconic beats on The Infamous. He produced for Nas and Biggie, released solo albums like The Kush, and collaborated with the Alchemist. Contributions include Kanye West's The Life of Pablo.

Queens group Onyx, known for their hardcore rap style, rose to fame with 1993's "Slam." Their debut album, *Bacdafucup*, went platinum and won Best Rap Album at the 1994 Soul Train Awards. Core members Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz also acted and collaborated with M.O.P. and DMX. Notable albums include *All We Got Iz Us* and *Shut 'Em Down*. Rakim, born in Wyandanch, Long Island, is a legendary rapper known for his smooth, jazz-influenced flow and intricate lyrics. As part of Eric B. & Rakim, he released classics like *Paid in Full* and *Follow the Leader*. His solo work includes hits like *The 18th Letter*, collaborating with icons like Dr. Dre and Linkin Park. Rakim’s impact on East Coast rap remains unparalleled.

Brooklyn-born Big Daddy Kane, alias for Antonio Hardy, emerged in the late '80s as a hip-hop icon.
