Claire Martin, British jazz vocalist born in London, influenced by 1950s cool-school singers and contemporary artists like Joni Mitchell. Twice named Best Solo Vocalist by the British Arts Awards in her teens, she earned British Jazz Awards for Best New Jazz Artist in 1994 and Best Jazz Singer in 1995.
