Born in South Central LA, jazz saxophonist Gerald Albright excels across multiple instruments. He’s known for hits like "Just Between Us" and "24/7" with Norman Brown. Albright’s collaborations include Patrice Rushen, Quincy Jones, and Dave Koz. His albums, such as "Slam Dunk" and "Summer Horns," frequently top jazz charts, and he runs his own label, Bright Music.

North Philly-born Jill Scott is a Grammy-winning R&B singer, poet, and actress, known for hits like "Cross My Mind" and "A Long Walk," plus work with the Roots, Lupe Fiasco, and more.

Formed in 1976 at Kentucky State University, MIDNIGHT STAR rose to fame with technofunk hits like "Freak-A-Zoid" and "No Parking on the Dance Floor." Their albums earned multiple Platinum and Gold certifications, with chart-toppers like "Operator," "Midas Touch," and collaborations like "Don’t Rock the Boat" with Whodini. Performing worldwide, they remain an iconic band in funk and R&B.

Jodeci, known as "The Bad Boys of R&B," revolutionized the genre with soulful harmonies. Al Green, born in Forrest City, Arkansas, is a legendary R&B singer known for his smooth soul and falsetto. Collaborating with producer Willie Mitchell at Hi Records, he created iconic Memphis funk.
