Ben Folds and Detroit Symphony Orchestra

Emmy-nominated Ben Folds, born in North Carolina, is known for his multi-platinum pop music with Ben Folds Five, solo albums, and collaborations. He serves as Artistic Advisor to the NSO, curating the "Declassified" concert series. He scored acclaim with 2023’s "What Matters Most." Founded in 1914, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has thrived despite challenges, with highlights like the first radio symphonic concert in 1922. Under directors like Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Paul Paray, and Leonard Slatkin, the DSO gained international acclaim and won several awards.
