Going solo, she released top-charting albums featuring hits like "Mad About You" and "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," transitioning to mainstream success. She explored various musical styles, including French chanson and Buddhist chants. Carlisle collaborated with Diane Warren and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the Go-Go's in 2021.
