About Webb Wilder

Webb Wilder, born John McMurry in Hattiesburg, MS, is a roots rock pioneer known for his country-accented, retro rock & roll. With albums like "It Came from Nashville" and "Hybrid Vigor," his music blends twangy rockabilly, blues, and new wave. Notable for his humorous on-stage persona, he first gained fame in the '80s with his band, the Beatnecks. He acted in "Paradise Park" and "The Thing Called Love." Collaborated with R.S. Field, Wilder's song "Powerful Stuff" became a hit for the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Known for high-energy live shows and hosting WebbFest.
