About The Fureys

The Fureys, hailing from Ballyfermot, Ireland, formed in 1974 by brothers Finbar, Eddie, Paul, and George, are iconic in traditional Irish music. Known for hits like "When You Were Sweet Sixteen" and "Green Fields of France," they blend Irish roots with British and American influences. After early recordings in the '60s with Paddie Bell, they gained fame opening for the Clancy Brothers. Garnering international success in the late '70s and '80s, they collaborated with Davey Arthur. The group remains influential in the Irish/Celtic music scene.
