Mentored by Joe Satriani, he gained fame with Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake. His best-known work includes "Passion and Warfare" and creating the Ibanez Jem guitar. Noted for unique styles in solo releases, he participated in the G3 tour with Satriani. Vai's iconic collaborations span Alice Cooper, Public Image Ltd., and many others. Beyond music, he cultivates honey at his home.
