Norwegian violinist Ola Kvernberg, born in Fræna, is known for his jazz and rock fusion style. He studied at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium, collaborated with Hot Club de Norvège, and received acclaim for his work "Liarbird," winning the 2011 Spellemannprisen for Jazz Album of the Year. Kvernberg joined Motorpsycho for "The Death Defying Unicorn" and co-founded Grand General, likened to Mahavishnu Orchestra for its jazz-metal fusion.
