Lindisfarne, from Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, were a '70s folk-rock band known for hits like "Meet Me on the Corner" and albums "Fog on the Tyne" and "Nicely Out of Tune." Despite rivaling Jethro Tull in the UK, they struggled internationally. Alan Hull was the major songwriter, often likened to Bob Dylan. The band's sound melded folk melodies with rock, capturing audiences with lively performances. They underwent lineup changes, and though less successful later, they remained popular in Newcastle.
