Grand Funk Railroad, formed in Flint, MI, by Mark Farner and Don Brewer, is known for its blues-rock sound and energetic live shows. Despite critical pans, they gained a devoted fan base through constant touring. Key albums like "We're an American Band" and hits like "The Loco-Motion" defined their peak years. Collaborations with Todd Rundgren and Frank Zappa marked their style. Although disbanded and reformed multiple times, their legacy continues, highlighted by a benefit album, "Bosnia," and a retrospective box set, "Thirty Years of Funk: 1969-1999."
