El Michels Affair, led by Leon Michels, is an instrumental soul group known for their lo-fi, bottom-heavy style. They've collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan members, and were widely sampled by Jay-Z, J Dilla, and J.Cole. Their debut "Sounding Out The City" and follow-up "Enter the 37th Chamber" established them as a distinctive force. In 2020, they released "Adult Themes," a complex and eclectic album.
