The Boomtown Rats, formed in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland in 1975, fused punk energy and new wave style, gaining U.K. fame with hits like "I Don't Like Mondays." Fronted by Bob Geldof, known for global humanitarian efforts like Live Aid, they released notable albums, including *The Fine Art of Surfacing*. The band split in 1986, reunited in 2013, and dropped *Citizens of Boomtown* in 2020.
