Blood, Sweat & Tears, founded by Al Kooper in 1967, pioneered jazz-rock with hits like "Spinning Wheel" and "You've Made Me So Very Happy." Their self-titled 1969 album won a Grammy for Album of the Year. Known for blending jazz, rock, and R&B, they experienced multiple lineup changes, including Canadian singer David Clayton-Thomas. The band's popularity waned following a controversial State Department tour, but their innovative sound remains influential.
